Jacek Stopa wins Khazar Open Chess Tournament
Grand Master Jacek Stopa of Poland emerged the winner of the 13th Khazar International Open Chess Tournament with 7 points on Tuesday.
The second and third places in Group A went to Iran’s Khalil Mousavi and Azerbaijani Grand Master Azar Mirzayev with 7 points each.

Ukrainian GM Konstantin Tarlev, Iran’s Amir Rezapour and GM Ehsan Ghaem Maghami with 6.5 points each ranked fourth to sixth places respectively.

In Group B including chess players with international rating of under 2100, Behtash Salimifard with 8 points took the first place, followed by Hadi Ghorbani and Behrouz Fouladi each with 7.5 points.

In Group C for Women, Golnaz Jafari from Iran winning the first title with 8 points and Bahar Hallaeva and Gozel Atabayeva both from Turkmenistan taking the second and third places respectively each with 7 points.

Group D for Youth Players under 14 years Old (Boys & Girls), in under 6-year-old category Amir Hossein Jafari, under 8- year-old Hirad Saberi, under 10-year-old Bardia Daneshvar, under 12-year-old Arad Nazari and under 14-year-old Abolfazl Kazemiyan Eski took the first places.

The 13th International Khazar Open Chess Tournament was held from February 11 to 17 in Rasht, northern Iran.
