Iran remained unbeaten in Group B after defeating Tunisia 19-5 in Tehran’s Shiroudi Stadium on Wednesday.
Iran beat the African team 4-1 in the first quarter in front of cheering fans.
Iran squeezed Tunisia 6-1 and 6-1 in the second and third quarters. Iran managed the fourth quarter beating team 3-2.
“I believe that Austria is stronger than the other teams in the group. I hope that our players take serious their rival. We will take nothing for granted,” Taherian said in the post match news conference.
Iran has already defeated Guatemala 20-2 and Indonesia 18-6 in their two previous matches.
Iran will play Austria on Thursday to decide the group leader.
