Iranian shooter Norouziyan grabs quota for Olympics
Pourya Norouziyan of Iran grabbed Iran’s fourth quota place for the Rio Olympics 2016 on Saturday.

The Iranian shooter won the bronze medal in the Air Rifle Men event in New Delhi Asia Olympic Qualifying Competition for Shooting. 

Najmeh Khedmati, Elaheh Ahmadi and Golnoush Sebghatollahi have already advanced to the Olympic Games. 

In the Air Rifle Men event, Naoya Okada from Japan seized a gold with a score of 208.1 points. 

Silver medal went to Kazakhstan’s Yuriy Yurkov, who recorded a final score of 206.3 points.

He was also the only participant not eligible for an Olympic quota, wrote. 

He has already collected one in another event during last year’s World Cup.

 The slot for Rio 2016, then, went to the bronze medallist, Pourya Norouziyan, who finished with 184.2 points.

A total of 538 shooters from 30 Asian countries vie for 35 Rio Olympic quota places up for grabs in the competition that concludes on February 2 in Delhi, India.
