Iran’s Taheri takes World Indoor Archery Championships bronze
Omid Taheri from Iran seized a bronze medal at the World Indoor Archery Championships on Sunday.
Compound men’s bronze at the world indoors went to surprise finallist Taheri. The Iranian beat Beijing 2001 World Archery Champion – outdoors – Dejan Sitar by five, 147-142.

“My goal was to get 150,” the first-time international athlete said. “I was shooting good and the match was very high-quality, though.”

Gold medal went to Sebastien Peineau from France who defeated his Dutch rival Mike Schloesser.

The 2016 World Archery Indoor Championships started in Ankara, Turkey, on March 1, and will finish on March 6.

The international sports event attracted dozens of archers from various world countries, including Belgium, France, Greece, Hungary, Iran, Mexico, the Netherlands, Russia, Slovenia, Turkey and the United States.
