Iran’s Mehrabi and Shahini claim medals at Asian Confederation Boxing C’ships
Iran’s Sajad Mehrabi and Hassan Shahini claimed two bronze medals on Friday at the 2015 ASBC Asian Confederation Boxing Championships in Thailand.

Mehrabi was defeated against Uzbekistan’s Bektemir Melikuziev in the 75-kilogram weight category.

Also in the 81-kilogram weight category, Hassan Shahini lost to Adilbek Niyazymbetov from Kazakhstan and seized a bronze medal.

Iran’s Reza Moradkhani, who replaced Asian Games winner Ali Mazaheri in 91-kilogram weight class, has previously bagged a bronze medal in the event.

A total of 188 boxers from 28 countries, including China, Iran and Kazakhstan, are competing in the tournament. China, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, South Korea, Sri Lanka and Uzbekistan are the countries that are attending the event with the maximum number of ten boxers.
The ASBC Asian Confederation Boxing Championships started in Bangkok, Thailand, on August 26 and will wrap on September 5.

The Iranian trio also booked tickets for the AIBA World Championships.

AIBA World Championships will be held in Doha, Qatar from October 5 to 15. The Doha games will serves as a qualifying tournament to the 2016 Summer Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
