Iranian mountaineer Azim Gheichisaz dreams of conquering Mt Lhotse
Gheichisaz wants to conquer Lhotse, the fourth highest mountain, to become the first Iranian climbing all 14 of the world's 8000 meter plus mountains.

The eight-thousanders are the 14 independent mountains on Earth that are more than 8,000 meters high above sea level. All eight-thousanders are located in the Himalayan and Karakoram mountain ranges in Asia.
Gheichisaz has already climbed 13 of the world's 8000 meter plus mountains.
“I conquered Everest in 1995 and I am going to climb Lhotse in April. Frankly, every climber who conquers Everest, probably cries.
“I want to be the first Iranian mountaineer to climb all 14 mountains without the use of supplementary oxygen,” Gheichisaz told Tehran Times correspondent.
“Everest is the highest peak in the world but I think the other mountains are more dangerous than the Mount,” he added.
“Until now, just 15 mountaineers have conquered the 14 peaks without supplementary oxygen. It took seven years and two months for the last one and I could set a new record with a time of six years and eight months,” Gheichisaz added.
